Deebo Samuel's Comments About 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk Is Turning Heads

As contract negotiations and trade rumors swirl around San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, his teammate Deebo Samuel remains unfazed by the outside noise.

When asked if the 49ers could win the Super Bowl without Aiyuk, Samuel confidently dismissed any concerns about needing to win without him.

“BA’s gonna be a part of this team,” Samuel told Kay Adams on Up and Adams, powered by FanDuel TV. “So we don’t have to worry about that.”

Samuel’s statement comes amid ongoing negotiations between Aiyuk and the 49ers, which have raised speculation about his future with the team. Understandably, the 6-foot, 200-pound pass-catcher wants to be paid what the market has dictated a WR1 is worth. But the 49er's front office has to be fiscally responsible, given the amount of money they'll have to pay out to QB Brock Purdy in the future.

That said, if you're a 49ers fan, Samuel’s confidence is a positive sign that Aiyuk, who is coming off a season where he recorded 75 catches for a career-best 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, will be staying put.

Not to mention, Aiyuk was present at practice all week.

The situation gained more clarity when 49ers general manager John Lynch went on KNBR radio, emphasizing the team’s urgency to finalize a long-term deal with Aiyuk. Though Samuel isn’t directly involved in the negotiations, his straightforward response suggests the trade rumors may be further removed from reality than initially feared.

With Aiyuk in the fold, the 49ers remain a legitimate contender for another Super Bowl run. If not, their path forward becomes far more uncertain.

For now, Samuel is confident Aiyuk will suit up alongside him this season, and if he does, head coach Kyle Shanahan will once again have one of the most dangerous sets of offensive weapons in the entire NFL.
