In their first preseason game of the year, the Buffalo Bills played Josh Allen and most of the starters for over a quarter and a half.

It didn't help the team overall as they dropped a 33-6 laugher to the Chicago Bears in disappointing fashion in front of the hometown fans. Head coach Sean McDermott made it clear that the performance last Saturday was "not up to our standard" and something that would be corrected.

Now it seems that McDermott is making sure the outcome won't happen again - even in a meaningless preseason contest.

Buffalo announced on the team website Friday afternoon that Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen and starters will play for over a quarter and a half when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday afternoon.

While the plan if for the starters to play over a quarter of action in Pittsburgh, the weather might alter their plans.

Rain is scheduled in the forecast in the Steel City - something that has altered plans for other teams around the league as they decide who to start and sit in the preseason.

For the most part, though, it doesn't seem like it will completely alter McDermott's idea at all.

Allen and the starters are going to play Saturday. And the coach expects it to be better than last week.
