Jets Continue to Be Impressed By Malachi Corley

When Garrett Wilson was coming out of college, the New York Jets understood they were getting a ready to play star in the making at wide receiver.

New York may be excited about Malachi Corley's jump to the NFL as well, but that doesn't mean he's as ready as Wilson was coming out.

Of course, that's understandable for a player like Corley who was drafted in the third round as opposed to Wilson's 10th overall selection. Nevertheless, head coach Robert Saleh believes big things are coming for the Western Kentucky star.

"He's as advertised when that balls in his hands, so he's been growing, still a long way to go with his route running, and understanding the same thing that Garrett (Wilson) went through, just being where he needs to be as fast as he can get there, and just fine-tuning his routes, his stems, his leverage, understanding his leverage and learning how to create separation, but love his mindset," Saleh said. "I love the way he works. It's very, very important to him and he's going to be a really good player.

"We're trying to just find different ways to get him the ball, and if it works out great, if not, we'll look for other ways."

Corley's route-running continues to improve by the practice, and he already has a 30-yard kick return under his belt.

If the Jets believe his upside could be on par with Wilson, the sky appears to be the limit for New York's offense.
