Watch: Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell, Mercury’s Natasha Cloud Get Into On-Court Scuffle

Things got a little chippy in Friday’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and Phoenix Mercury.

Midway through the third quarter with the Fever up 61-51 and possessing the ball, Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell and Phoenix’s Natasha Cloud got into it at the top of the key.

It’s not known what, or who, started the incident, but it appeared as though both players exchanged some words before shoving one another.

The confrontation was quickly broken up by Fever forward NaLyssa Smith. Mitchell was initially called for an offensive foul shortly after, but both her and Cloud ended up getting offsetting technicals.

The Mercury closed the gap quickly thereafter, even taking a brief 62-61 lead before the Fever closed the quarter on a 12-3 run to take a 73-65 lead into the fourth.

It was the Fever’s first game in nearly a month while the Mercury cruised to an 85-65 blowout win over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky the night before.
