    James Wiseman Planning Wisely

When the Detroit Pistons don't want you, it's a sign to improve. James Wiseman was the No.2 Pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. However, even after winning the 2022 NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors, Wiseman couldn't find his footing with a team needing a specific type of center.

When the Warriors traded Wiseman to the Pistons, more opportunities came, but the stint ended after one of the worst teams in the league didn't pick up his qualifying offer. However, as a blessing in disguise, Wiseman signed with the Indiana Pacers in a backup center role following Jalen Smith's departure from the Chicago Bulls.

Perhaps the third time is the charm for Wiseman.

However, as the young center learned in Detroit, nothing is guaranteed, and he must train to prove he's worthy of a long-term deal.

Wiseman is competing in the Miami Pro League, which has its championship game this Saturday. Last summer, Miami Heat stars Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro participated in the league. Wiseman threw down a monstrous dunk in a video that surfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Former NBA player Michael Beasley is experiencing stardom after hitting a game-winning shot to advance, with Josh Hart and Adre Drummond playing in the same contest.

The point is that Wiseman is playing with former and current NBA players, prepping for the 2024-25 season. As long as he plays defense and runs to the rim, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle will find a spot in his rotation for the forgotten center.
