The Cincinnati Bengals' mission in the offseason is clear: get Joe Burrow more protection. Not wanting a repeat of his injury in 2020, Cincinnati is investing in their offensive line. That was the goal this offseason, as well as drafting tackle Amarius Mims in the first round with the 18th pick.

Unfortunately, Mims suffered a pectoral injury in training camp, forcing him to miss several weeks of action. The Bengals were ready for that too, as they signed Trent Brown earlier as a competitor for Mims' position. However, things might be taking a turn for the worse.

During the Bengals' joint practice against the Chicago Bears, Brown was suddenly replaced by Cody Ford. As it turns out, the left tackle suffered from a back ailment that forced him to miss the rest of practice, per Jeremy Rench.

Brown, a former seventh-round pick who last played for the New England Patriots, was signed by Cincinnati this offseason. Early returns at camp had Brown sitting behind Mims in the depth chart. However, the rookie's pec injury thrust Brown into the starting role.

The Bengals are hoping that this injury does not set their offensive line back this season. While they've come a long way from Burrow's 51-sack 2021 season, they're still one of the leaders in sacks allowed last season. Giving Burrow time in the pocket is paramount to their success.

For Burrow, he will be returning to the field after missing most of 2023 due to a wrist injury. The Bengals are hoping that he'll have a clean pocket to work with this season, despite the injuries to their offensive line.

More bad luck, but it happens to every team.

Trent Brown's a mole and so is Orlando. They're hoping Burrow suffers a career injury. Piece of shit they are and all of Cincinnati knows it. So why doesn't the coach and front office? We the fans see it. It's freaking incredible.
