Video Goes Viral of Simone Biles, Rebeca Andrade Embracing at Olympics

Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade and USA’s Simone Biles are considered to be the two best gymnasts in the world right now.

The duo finished first and second, respectively, in the floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and they both showed mutual admiration for one another in their post-Olympics news conference after.

And now a video posted on X by user @acervo_rebiles, which currently has 2.4 million views and has more than 30,000 reposts, shows the great lengths Andrade went to to share a post-competition hug with her American counterpart after the scores for the floor exercise were announced.

Andrade, who scored a 14.166, narrowly edged out Biles, who scored a 14.133, for the second Olympic gold medal of her career (she also won gold in vault at the 2020 Tokyo Games).

The 25-year-old Brazilian, who overcame three ACL tears to get back to the Olympic stage, also came in second to Biles in the all-around final and vault in Paris. Andrade’s Olympic medal count is now at six — two gold, three silver and one bronze.

The floor exercise was the only event Biles competed in at the Paris Games that she didn’t win. The 27-year-old American, who has 11 career Olympic medals, won gold in the all-around final, vault and the team final (she didn’t medal in balance beam and she didn’t compete in uneven bars).
