Giants LB McFadden Carted Off vs. Texans

Things haven’t gone swimmingly for the New York Giants in their second preseason contest against the Houston Texans.

After quarterback Daniel Jones was intercepted twice in three drives , struggling immensely in his return to action, the bad news would continue.

On the drive after Jones’ second interception, linebacker Micah McFadden was caught up in the pile and went down with an injury.

McFadden would stay down for a moment, nursing what looked like a lower-body injury. Ultimately, he was carted off.

The Giants initially feared the worst, of course, Texans receiver Tank Dell was on the opposite side of the pile last year in this same NRG Stadium when his leg was rolled up on and his knee was torn up, ending his season.

Instead, New York learned that McFadden’s injury was to his hip, rather than his knee or ankle. That’s (probably) good news. The Giants officially ruled McFadden as questionable to return, per an in-game update, but it’s safe to assume that he will not be returning to action in Saturday’s affair.

At the time of the injury, New York trailed 7-0. He was replaced by rookie Darius Muasau.

Defensive lineman Ryder Anderson also got hurt after a brief appearance. He was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
