Zion Williamson Goes Viral For Shocking Weight Change in New Offseason Photo

The Zion Williamson era may finally be coming for the NBA.

The first five years of his career have seen a lot of highs filled with rim-shattering dunks and many lows concerning health and physical fitness. However, the former No. 1 overall pick appears to be in the best shape of his life heading into the 2024-25 season for the New Orleans Pelicans.

A new picture is circulating online that shows Zion standing with a pair of young fans, and the weight change is palpable, with Williamson looking thinner than we've ever seen him before.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 285 pounds, it looks like the Pelicans start could have dropped as many as 20 pounds, if not more, in the photo.

Throughout his career, Zion has faced a lot of criticism over his weight, and his tendency to show up to training camp each year far too heavy. Questions about his eating habits and commitment to his craft have arose as well, so when fans saw his new build, they were excited, to say the least.

In total, the picture of Skinny Zion has over 1.5 million views across multiple accounts on social media. We will see how things look once the season gets started and Williamson gets a chance to show what his new physique can do on the court, but this is a great sign for Pelicans fans as we get into the fall.
