The Las Vegas Raiders hosted the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium, and the visiting team left with a 27-12 victory. The Raiders struggled to find offensive consistency as they rotated through Gardner Minshew, Aidan O'Connell, and Carter Bradley.

Minshew had a deep completion to second-year receiver Tre Tucker for 48 yards in the first quarter as Tucker won in single coverage. Tucker was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and Raiders fans will be thrilled to see him continue to thrive in the preseason.

After a year of Jimmy Garoppolo consistently missing open receivers downfield, watching Minshew complete that pass is a breath of fresh air. However, Misnhew averaged a measly 2.3 yards per attempt outside of that completion.

Second-year quarterback Aidan O'Connell didn't perform much better. While he accounted for the team's lone passing touchdown of the night to tight end Harrison Bryant, he also threw an interception that Kemon Hall returned for a touchdown for the Cowboys.

Trey Lance, the former No. 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, shined for the Cowboys. The former 49ers' draft pick accounted for 151 passing yards, 34 rushing yards, and two touchdowns. Rookie wide receiver Ryan Flournoy beat Raiders' starting cornerback Jack Jones for a score in the second quarter.

To his credit, Jones had two pass breakups and tied for the team lead with six tackles, and he had some excellent moments during the game. The Raiders acquired Jones via waivers partway through last season, and the former Patriot is poised to compete for a starting cornerback spot after closing last year strong.

The Raiders will have one more opportunity to earn a win in the preseason next week. They host the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, August 23, at 7 PM PST. The regular season begins for Las Vegas on September 8 with a road game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
