The Oregon Ducks are arguably the most difficult game on the schedule for the Wisconsin Badgers this season. The Big Ten newcomers enter the season with the second-best odds to win the Big Ten behind Ohio State, and the third-best odds (+650) to win the national championship, according to FanDuel .

Head coach Dan Lanning has the Ducks on the rise as one of the premier college football programs. Adding the Ducks to the Big Ten amplify that. The Ducks are consistently among the top recruiting programs in both high school and the transfer portal.

The Badgers have a difficult slate of games, but the Oregon game could be the most difficult.

The Badgers and Ducks have just six all-time meetings with the series tied at three games a piece.

The Ducks, however, have won the last three games, including two Rose Bowls.

The 2000 season was the last time the Ducks went to Camp Randall. The fifth-ranked Badgers won 27-23, despite Brooks Bollinger completing just five passes for 65 yards and an interception. The Badgers were led by running back Michael Bennett, who rushed for 290 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Badgers picked off Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington three times, including the game-ending pick with 11 seconds left in the game.

Oregon started last season as the No. 15 team in the country. The Ducks rattled off five-straight wins before losing to Washington on the road, 33-36. Afrer the loss to the Huskies, the Ducks got back on track, winning their next six game, including wins over ranked opponents Utah (No. 13) and Oregon State (No. 15) to punch their ticket to the PAC-12 Championship Game.

A rematch with Washington awaited them with a potential appearance in the College Football Playoff on the line. For the second time, the Ducks fell to the Huskies, who eventually lost in the National Championship to Michigan.

The Ducks finished their season with a 45-6 victory over Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl to finish their season with a 12-2 record.

    2024 Preview

The Ducks are once again expected to compete for a national championship. Even after losing Bo Nix to the NFL Draft, the Ducks reloaded by bringing in quarterback Dillon Gabriel from Oklahoma. Gabriel enters the season as the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman (+700), according to FanDuel .

While the Ducks are among the favorites to win the national championship, they will have a tougher schedule this year than in the past. They left the PAC-12 and joined the Big Ten, which as a conference, is wholly better than the PAC-12 was.

A matchup on October 12th with Ohio State is the headliner on their schedule, but they also have a date with Wisconsin in November in Madison. In the past, Oregon would play Oregon State in their rivalry game, which is usually played in November. In the history of that game , the coldest game played was 27°. The average for that series is 51°.

Madison, Wisconsin is going to be a whole different ballgame for the Ducks. The Badgers will have experience in the elements on their side could use the cold as an advantage when the Ducks face off with the Badgers for the first time as conference foes.
