Giants Offensive Line Takes Important Step

Over the last few seasons, few offensive lines have been worse as a collective group than the one the New York Giants have thrown out.

Those concerns may be coming to an end, though, in 2024.

New York made sweeping changes to the offensive line in the offseason with the signings of Jermaine Eluemunor, Jon Runyan Jr., and the recently added Greg Van Roten. The group saw the field for the first time in Saturday's preseason contest against the Houston Texans.

Things didn't go too poorly...at least for the offensive line.

With the entire projected starting lineup together minus Runyan, the Giants starters gave up just a single pressure on 19 pass-blocking plays. It's a vast improvement from years past for a group that actually gave up the most sacks in the NFL last season.

While it certainly did not help Daniel Jones throwing two interceptions and looking genuinely rusty after missing almost the entirety of last season, it's an important development for New York in the 2024 season.

The Giants are not expected to be a top team in the upcoming year, but if the offensive line looks better than in recent years, it could certainly improve their win total, regardless of what it means for their search for a franchise quarterback.
