The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't have the best overall performance in a 20-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second preseason game.

However, the outside linebacker group shined, unleashing pressure on the Jaguars quarterbacks from start to finish.

The Bucs did not record a sack in their first preseason game, but on Saturday it was a sack flurry when they recorded five of them on quarterbacks Mac Jones and C.J. Beathard.

Outside linebacker Jose Ramirez got the pass rush going early recording two sacks in the first half, and added his third to complete the hat trick to end the third quarter.

Head coach Todd Bowles spoke following the game about the pass rush group.

“That’s the one thing that showed up on defense,” Bowles said. “Obviously, there were a lot of missed tackles in the run game. Not pleased with that. Not pleased with third down, but we got five sacks. Doesn’t count in the loss, but the young guys made some progress.”

Backup outside linebacker Markees Watts also got in on the fun proving that the Bucs don't lack depth on the edge.

Ramirez is working on playing himself onto the roster and with a performance like his on Saturday, it could pay dividends for the young edge rusher.

On a night when the secondary didn't have their best outing, and nothing was going on offense, the pass rush looked like a real bright spot for the Bucs just relentlessly making the Jags quarterbacks flush out of the pocket and make plays on the run.
