Shaq vs. Curry? Iverson Reveals 'Controversial' Best Starting 5

    By Lance Roberson,

Allen Iverson is aging gracefully. Aside from the physical expectations of a former athlete no longer away partaking in a consistent training and practicing schedule, Iverson also displays a sense of understanding with the generation of players that came after. The former Philadelphia 76ers superstar appeared on a recent episode of Shaquille O'Neal's The Big Podcast.

Iverson provided a lineup for players during his playing time, and for O'Neal's amusement, the Hall of Fame guard left his friend "The Diesel" off the list.

As an ambassador of basketball and a culture-setting pioneer, Iverson understood the assignment.

Iverson participated in O'Neal's podcast exercise. The 2001 MVP was informed he had to include himself in the lineup, making for an intriguing game. Without hesitation, Iverson went with Stephen Curry, himself, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and O'Neal.

However, unintentionally not obliging to the game's rules, Iverson listed six again. O'Neal reminded the NBA legend he could only pick five players. Iverson ultimately removed the Los Angeles Lakers legend from his list.

Iverson's cheat-code lineup is that of an NBA 2K fantasy roster. Unlike many of his retired NBA legend counterparts, Iverson carries himself with an appreciation for the current crop of stars.

In the past, Iverson shared kind words for the four-time NBA champion Curry. Curry's influence on the game is similar to what Iverson accomplished from a cultural standpoint. Without Curry, the NBA's current landscape wouldn't exist because the unanimous' MVP's otherworldly three-point shooting changed how coaches teach defense and front offices build teams.
