Mikal Bridges All-Star Season Incoming?

The New York Knicks made one of the biggest moves of the offseason when they traded five first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges. While that may be a steep price, it could prove worth it if he meets expectations.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley , he gives some of his bold predictions for the Knicks' season. One of the predictions he makes is that, for the first time in his career, Bridges will make the All-Star team.

"Depending on what kind of future the Knicks envision with Julius Randle, they might welcome Bridges ascension as their second option on offense," Buckley writes. "If he's pumping in around 20 points per night while also locking down the defensive end and flirting with a 50/40/90 slash for the second-best team in the East, his All-Star credentials will be too strong to ignore."

The star wing has been the first option on the Brooklyn Nets the last few seasons, but that will not necessarily be the case with the Knicks. Even though the number of shots he's taking could go down, that does not mean his production will.

Bridges is one of the most consistent players in the entire NBA, as his shooting percentages never really dip down to concerning levels. That consistency combined with his versatility on both ends of the court could make him impossible to ignore when All-Star voting rolls around.

If Bridges can put together an All-Star season alongside Jalen Brunson, and possibly Julius Randle, the Knicks could be in great position to make some noise come playoff time.
