The Chicago Cubs will look for the series sweep after picking up a series win on a 3-2 victory against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday.

The team will look for a solid outing from their starting pitcher today and hopefully, some length as Justin Steele was forced out of the game early in the second game of the series due to two rain delays before both teams could finish the second inning. The bullpen had to cover seven innings in the Cubs victory.

Sunday, August 18th: Shota Imanaga vs. Bowden Francis

The Cubs will go with Shota Imanaga (9-2, 3.16 ERA) in the final game of the series against Toronto. Imanaga is coming off a tough performance last time out against the Cleveland Guardians. He allowed seven runs (but only three earned) across five innings of work. He has had better luck with baserunners at Wrigley Field this season, posting a 0.96 WHIP while pitching at home.

The Blue Jays will start Bowden Francis (5-3, 4.92 ERA) in the series finale. Francis will be making his seventh start of the season. He is coming off an impressive start against the Los Angeles Angels where he picked up the win after going seven innings of work, only allowing one run and picking up eight strikeouts. He has allowed 12 homers this season with nine of them coming on the road.
