Quinyon Mitchell Details Eagles Practice, Competing Against Top Wideouts

"Iron sharpens iron" may be a quote used by every NFL team, but the Philadelphia Eagles are a group where it's especially true for one particular player.

In his first NFL training camp, first-round rookie Quinyon Mitchell has gone up against A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith as he tries to prepare for his first season in the league.

The more he works with both of them, the more prepared he is to go up against other top receivers across the league.

It's why after practice Thursday, the Toledo product has been more than appreciative of Philadelphia's two receiver standouts.

“It’s been good work, him and AJ have been getting me ready and prepared everyday," Mitchell explained. "They the best two in the game.”

Brown and Smith are truly one of the NFL's best receiving duos in the sport today with over 1,000 yards for each player in back-to-back seasons - no Eagle receiver tandem has ever had one to this point.

With Mitchell continuing to get first-team reps, though, it's important for the Eagles to show the difference in play speed for the Mid-American Conference as opposed to the NFL.

That's where Smith and Brown have come in for the young cornerback.

It's also why both have been very complimentary of Mitchell early on in camp.
