The Las Vegas Raiders lost their second preseason game to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, by a score of 27-12.

The game was close for the most part, but things got out of hand once the fourth quarter began, and Dallas ran away with the game.

Head coach Antonio Pierce had mentioned earlier this week that he'd like to make a decision on the team's starting quarterback after this game. Unfortunately, neither Aidan O'Connell or Gardner Minshew really did enough to prove themselves on Saturday.

Pierce was asked about his thoughts after the game, and whether he'd have a decision soon. First, he talked about the team's thought process as they come to a decision:

"I'm going to go all the way back to OTAs, minicamp, training camp, two preseason games... And there's going to be a lot of factors, obviously, right? Command of the offense, the operational part, efficiency. The turnovers is huge -- that shows up -- taking care of the football's going to be important for our team."

Avoiding mistakes is something Pierce has stressed with the utmost importance throughout this whole ordeal, and yet each quarterback has made them as various points.

Pierce also spoke about GM Tom Telesco and Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy helping him make the decision:

"And then ... sitting there with Telesco and Luke over the next couple of days and just really pinpointing who's going to get us off to a fast start to get to where we want to be in that first quarter of the season."

As of now, neither option looks like the best one. Both Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew have struggled at various points, and haven't provided a ton of encouragement ahead of the 2024 season.
