Browns Coach Kevin Stefanski Reveals Thoughts on Week 1 Nick Chubb vs. Cowboys

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) while he recovers from a gruesome knee injury suffered in Week 2 last season.

So far, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has been non-committal about Chubb's return timeline, and the running back has yet to work out with his teammates this offseason and in training camp.

After two preseason games, Stefanski still isn't ready to commit to Chubb being ready for Week 1 vs. the Dallas Cowboys at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

"I'm not going to get too far down the road on that type of stuff," Stefanski said. "I will tell you, I get to see him work out every day. He's doing everything that he's supposed to do and more, but not going to get too far down the road."

The Brown running back room is fairly deep with D'Onta Foreman, Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong on the roster, and Nyheim Hynes, who hasn't practiced yet this offseason.

If Brown remains on the PUP list to start the season, he'll have to miss at least the first four games of the 2024 campaign.
