Can Milano Return from Injury This Season? Doctor’s Opinion

The Buffalo Bills received some disappointing injury news last week when veteran linebacker and former All-Pro Matt Milano tore his biceps in practice. However, according to a former NFL team doctor, despite needing surgery, Milano has a strong chance of returning before the end of the 2024 season.

Dr. David Chao, a former team doctor for the Los Angeles Chargers, and a current sports injury expert for SiriusXM, took to social media to give his thoughts on Milano's recovery. According to Chao, Milano has potential to return to the field in December as the Bills are looking to make their playoff push.

While Chao does have experience working with injuries in the NFL, the reality is that there is no way to really know when Milano will be ready to take the field again with the Bills, as every recovery is different.

However, having Chao give his input on the injury will still certainly ease some fan's minds as they wait for their veteran linebacker to return.

This will now be the second-straight season that Milano will miss substantial time after he suffered a leg fracture in Week 5 of 2023. With Milano out, Dorian Williams is in line to take his place in the starting group until he is able to return.

Bills Mafia will not have to wait much longer to see Williams take the field with the starting defense, as the Bills kick off their regular-season against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 8.
