Malik Taylor's season is over with the New York Jets even before it really began.

The former Green Bay Packers wide receiver and futures contract by New York has now been placed on Injured Reserve by the team for an injury suffered early in training camp.

In a corresponding roster move, the Jets also signed defensive lineman Jaylen Twyman.

Twyman most recently played for the UFL's San Antonio Brahmas and was originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round in 2021 out of Pittsburgh. He spent his two first two seasons on Minnesota's roster before joining Miami's practice squad in October 2022.

He has not played in a regular-season game in his NFL career.

Regarding Taylor, the Jets have plenty of depth competing for final roster spots including undrafted free agents like Xavier Gipson and Jason Brownlee. While Taylor did have a good shot of potentially competing for a roster spot, his season will end before playing a down in New York.

He was on the Jets practice squad last season and was signed to a reserve/futures contract by the team following the 2022-23 regular season.
