Broncos Ownership Facing Backlash Over Record-Setting $48 Million Purchase

The Walton family , owners of Walmart and the Denver Broncos, have some fans upset over their plans to build a mansion in Denver.

According to a report from BusinessDen cited in The Denver Post , "Public records show a limited liability company with an Aspen address is spending nearly $50 million on a residence in Denver’s exclusive Polo Club neighborhood. The Walton family is behind that LLC, multiple sources told BusinessDen."

The proposed 8-bed, 11-bath residence is estimated to cost approximately $48.2 million, including $28.2 million for the lots and $20 million for the building itself.

Not all fans are thrilled about the development for America's wealthiest family, estimated by Forbes to be worth $267 billion.

"Just think how that could help their employees!" a fan wrote on Facebook .

"Greedy! They could provide many homes for others," one commentor wrote.

Someone added, "No taste whatsoever, but then again what would you expect from Walmart?"

"I'm sure all their minimum wage employees are very happy for them," said another.

The Walton's are sparing no expense, as the new build will set a record for the costliest inside of Denver's city limits.

Per The Denver Post, "It trails only a couple deals in nearby Cherry Hills Village, a separate municipality. A mansion that former Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson paid $25 million for, and later sold at a loss, holds the record for the Denver metropolitan area."
