Granted, the Green Bay Packers played their reserves against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos, but how his team performed on the field was far from acceptable for head coach Matt LaFleur.

Following the Packers' 27-2 road loss to the Broncos in a preseason game in Mile High City on Sunday, LaFleur implied that he didn't see the level of urgency he thought his team would have after a mediocre joint practice with Denver last Friday.

"That was a long night,” LaFleur said about the Packers-Broncos preseason game, per Packers.com’s Mike Spofford .

"Certainly I was hoping our guys would come out with more strain, effort, and grit after kind of getting humbled the other day in practice. To have it happen again, not where we want to be. I think it's a good lesson for our guys."

The Packers were left in the dust early, as the Broncos led Green Bay 17-0 at the end of the first half. In the second half, Denver's offense slowed down, but the Packers' attack remained lifeless the rest of the way. Green Bay's only points came via a safety when Packers defensive end Zach Morton sacked Broncos quarterback Zach Wilson in the end zone late in the third period.

Overall, Green Bay produced just 168 yards of total offense and went only 3-for-13 on third downs and 0-for-3 on fourth downs.

Green Bay can still close out their preseason schedule on a positive note when the Packers face off against the Baltimore Ravens at home this coming Saturday.
