The Philadelphia 76ers have had quite the offseason, having added players like Paul George, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond and more to their ranks. And they keep getting better, having pulled off what could be an absolute masterstroke.

Power forward was a position where the 76ers had looked a bit light on options. That might no longer be the case.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski , free agent Guerschon Yabusele has agreed on a one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Most NBA fans might have forgotten the name of Yabusele by now. He was selected 16th overall by the Boston Celtics in 2016.

Dubbed the 'French Draymond Green', there was a lot of hype surrounding Yabusele but his time in the league was not much to write home about. He started just 5 times over two seasons with the Celtics.

Yabusele was waived by the Celtics in 2019. He then went on to have short stints in China and France before settling down at Real Madrid in Spain.

So, why all the excitement around someone we have already seen struggle in the NBA in the past? Well, the answer is pretty simple. Yabusele looked like an absolute superstar at the Olympics.

Yabusele not only competed with but excelled against NBA players, helping France to a silver medal in Paris.

Yabusele put in an impressive performance in the final against Team USA as well, scoring 20 points in 31 minutes, including a poster dunk over LeBron James.

It was clear that Yabusele deserved a second chance in the NBA. And he has gotten that chance in Philadelphia.

At 28 years old, he is entering his prime. He also seems to have added a lot of tools to his game since the last time we saw him in the NBA.

A one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal would prove to be a bargain if the Olympics version of Yabusele turns up in the City of Brotherly Love.
