The Alabama Crimson Tide have been the most dominant program in college football since Nick Saban took over nearly 20 years ago. However, the legendary coach is no longer with the Crimson Tide.

That has raised many questions for the upcoming season. While new head coach Kalen DeBoer has been successful wherever he has been, Alabama presents a different challenge from what he's used to.

ESPN's Paul Finebaum still believes the Crimson Tide has enough talent to make it to the College Football Playoff, but he's uncertain about their chances of winning it all.

"I think they have plenty of talent on the team," Finebaum said. "I just think it's a matter of where are they going. I think they are a playoff team, but can they get beyond that is the question that frankly nobody knows right now."

Alabama suffered a major setback when Saban decided to step down. The Crimson Tide only retained 56% of its offensive production and 33% of its defensive production. Their offensive production ranks No. 8 in the SEC, while their defensive production ranks second to last.

However, according to 247Sports , Alabama performed well in the transfer portal by signing the No. 3 class. If those players can come in and acclimate to their new teammates, Alabama has a chance to make an impact in the playoffs again.
