Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers has appeared in the first “Fansville” advertisement of the 2024 season by Dr. Pepper, one of the College Football Playoffs’ chief sponsors.

The “Fansville” campaign, a series of 30-second advertisements about a fictional town centered around college football and drinking Dr. Pepper, was created by the soft drink giant in 2018 and has proved successful for the company across six college football seasons it has aired.

Ewers guest stars in the ad as the deputy to Fansville’s sheriff, played by actor and former two-time Unanimous All-American linebacker Brian Bosworth since the campaign’s inception in 2018. Despite the lighthearted nature of the ads, the Oklahoma legend being Ewers’ boss will presumably be a topic of conversation on social media, especially when the Red River Rivalry approaches in early October. Some have already drawn comparisons between the two, who each used to have flamboyant mullets.

This is just the latest NIL deal for Ewers, who has been cashing in this summer before what will presumably be his third and final season in Austin as the junior will be eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft, which is generally expected to have a less than stellar quarterback class.

The signal-caller also appeared on the cover of the wildly popular EA Sports College Football 25 video game alongside Colorado defensive back Travis Hunter and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, a deal valued at over $200,000.

“Fansville” typically releases multiple commercials throughout the season, so more spots starring the crime-fighting duo of “The Boz” and “The Deputy” may be on the way.
