The Los Angeles Chargers were dealt an unfortunate blow last month when starting quarterback Justin Herbert suffered a foot injury. The former Oregon standout was diagnosed with plantar fascia, which resulted in him being in a walking boot.

It was never expected to be an injury that would keep him out for much of the 2024 campaign, but it was still concerning for the Chargers, who are looking to improve this season under new head coach Jim Harbaugh.

On Monday however, Herbert took an important step towards his return ahead of Week 1, practicing for the first time since July.

The signal-caller lost two important weapons this offseason in Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, which means Quentin Johnston and DJ Chark Jr will need to step up.

If the Bolts are going to make the playoffs though, Herbert must be at his absolute best. The QB threw for over 3,000 yards last year and 20 touchdowns against seven interceptions.
