Matthew Judon Offers Surprising Take On Falcons Contract Demands

The Atlanta Falcons pulled the trigger earlier this month on a Matthew Judon trade with the New England Patriots, filling an immediate need for their defense ahead of the 2024 season.

Judon, who is a Pro Bowl pass-rusher, wasn't happy in Foxborough after they failed to give him a contract extension. That's also yet to happen in Atlanta, which is understandable considering he hasn't played yet.

The veteran is set to make just over $6 million in '24 and while his past resume is impressive, Judon knows he has to go out there and prove his worth before earning a lucrative payday.

    Via NFL.com:

"The Atlanta Falcons know nothing about me as a football player, as a man, or that stuff," Judon said. "They only know my previous resume. I can't really demand or ask for anything I haven't worked for, and that's where I've been my whole life. I'm gonna work for it."

Last season was full of injuries for Judon, suiting up just four times. But, he had four sacks before going on the shelf and has been in double-digits in that category in both years prior to 2023.

That doesn't matter, though. Judon wants to shine on the field and let his play do the talking. The money? It will follow.
