Jets Remain Undecided on Final Preseason Decision

It still may be unlikely, but the New York Jets have yet to decide whether or not they will play their starters for the final preseason contest in August against the New York Giants on Saturday.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said as much after practice Monday.

"We haven't talked about it yet," New York's head coach stated. "We'll reevaluate everything after the practice on Wednesday and come up with a decision."

While there may not be a definitive statement on the plan ahead, it's unlikely for the Jets to see their starters play against the Giants for two reasons.

First, New York has a joint practice scheduled with their cross-town rival this week - so the importance of getting preseason work in just isn't as important during those physical practices.

Second, in the case of Aaron Rodgers, Tyron Smith, and Morgan Moses, the Jets have plenty of older veterans who not only don't need preseason reps but wouldn't want to expose those players to the game field until the season starts.

And if Rodgers, Smith, and Moses aren't going to play, then why would Breece Hall? Garrett Wilson? The rest of New York's offensive line?

The reality is that the Jets don't need to play their starters on Saturday, but it doesn't look like an official announcement has been made just yet.
