Alabama WR Ryan Williams Named Preseason Freshman All-American

We have finally made it. Week 0 of the 2024 season is now upon us, and college football is now officially back.

We will begin to see the biggest storylines unfold as we progress through the season and what new talent will emerge as big-time play-makers for their programs.

Earlier on Monday, On3's  Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power and On3's Clark Brooks compiled a comprehensive list of their Preseason True Freshman All-American. These young players that On3 has chosen are for fans and other analysts to watch for 2024 and beyond.

A young talent making a name for himself in fall practices is receiver Ryan Williams for the Crimson Tide. The former five-star from Saraland, Alabama, has made positive impressions to his teammates and coaching staff with his clean route running, star-studded catches, and his mature demeanor he provides. There is much to like about this young man and the potential he carries.

Power and Brooks would select Williams among other true freshman. On3 provided the news on X.

Power provided more insight into the gifted Williams and what he has seen to add him to this list of young talent.

“Despite being a full year younger than his peers and not being an early enrollee, Ryan Williams has garnered considerable buzz out of fall camp in Alabama," Power said.

"Williams was arguably the most explosive pass catcher in a historic year at the position in the 2024 cycle, and it has already made a bunch of waves at Alabama," wrote Power. "Williams has elite play speed, is able to get vertical and is outstanding with the ball in his hands. Yeah, it may take time for him to continue to develop physically, but he is so gifted and has the desired mentality to make an impact early. He is competitive and mature beyond his years. It’s not surprising to hear the positive acclaim coming out of Tuscaloosa, and I could certainly see him making a big impact for the Crimson Tide this fall.”

He is expected to have a major role right away for the Tide.
