Earlier this week, one former Las Vegas Raiders ' player signed with a new team.

That player was Jakob Johnson, who has finally found a new home , signing with the New York Giants :

Johnson was drafted in 2023, and he spent the first three years of his career as a member of the New England Patriots . He never got too much of a chance to play there, and as a result, he was looking for a new team ahead of the 2022 season.

Then, in one of the earlier moves of the Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler era, they decided to bring Johnson in, figuring the fullback/tight end could make an impact on the Raiders' roster.

Unfortunately for Johnson, similar to his time in New England, there wasn't much of an impact to be made. During his two full years as a Raider, Johnson played mostly as a tight end, and had six receptions for 22 yards.

Under a new regime, the Raiders saw a bit of change this offseason, and Johnson was one of the players that wasn't kept in town. He became a free agent, and while it took him a little while to find a new job, he's now found a home with the Giants.

Johnson is one of a few Raiders that have migrated to the big apple this offseason. Jermaine Eluemunor and Greg Van Roten are two other former Raiders who have found the Giants as their new home for 2024, so Johnson will have some familiarity there at least.
