Sooners Linebacker Kip Lewis offers a lot of praise to his teammates

Kip Lewis is coming off of an honorable mention All Big 12 2023 season. He led the team with seven tackles including two for loss and a quarterback sack in the Alamo Bowl vs. Arizona. There are definitely a lot of high expectations for Kip heading into his third year in Norman.

Here are some of his thoughts after a recent Sooners practice.

How has fall camp been going for you so far?

Kip: It’s really good to get back, just getting schematically wise the defense down. It’s amazing.

What’s it been like to have Danny Stutsman back in the building for another year?

Kip: He brings that leader mentality, that edge, that pushes you. You know he’ll bring out the best in you and that’s the best thing about Danny is that you’re going to get his best and he’s going to motivate you to do yours.

On the development of sophomore Lewis Carter

Kip: I’ve seen a lot of development from Lewis Carter. He’s like my guy. Anything I know, I try to pour it into him. I just want to see Lewis be as great as I know he can be.
