Last night, the Cincinnati Reds (61-64) took care of business and dispatched the Toronto Blue Jays (58-67), 6-3. The bats came alive late and a rookie's debut was a success. On Tuesday, the Reds look to take the series in Toronto and try to inch ever closer to a playoff bid.

Carson Spiers (4-4, 4.55 ERA) is set to make his ninth start on the year. According to The Enquierer's Charlie Goldsmith, the Reds kept it open to be a bullpen day but the expectation was always that Spiers would pitch a handful of innings anyway.

Spiers' last start was rough. He lasted five innings and allowed eight runs off seven hits and four walks. His last outing was a 2 2/3-inning showing in relief during that sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals but he allowed six hits and two runs.

The Reds lineup will look to make his job as easy as possible:

    1.) DH Jonathan India
2.) SS Elly De La Cruz
    3.) C Tyler Stephenson
    4.) CF TJ Friedl
    5.) LF Spencer Steer
    6.) 1B Ty France
    7.) RF Jake Fraley
    8.) 3B Noelvi Marte
    9.) 2B Santiago Espinal
    SP Carson Spiers

The Blue Jays will counter with two-time All-Star, Jose Berrios (11-9, 3.85 ERA). Over his last two starts, the veteran righty has been phenomenal. He's pitched 14 innings and allowed a total of two runs (one in each) off eight hits and two walks.

Two years ago, he led all of baseball in hits and earned runs allowed (with the most...not the least). He has a solid 1.176 WHIP this year, so the Reds will need to make each hit count and not leave too many men on base.

This will be his fourth start against the Reds. Last year, he dominated the Reds' lineup. In 5 2/3 innings, Berrios allowed one hit and did not allow a run.

    1.) DH George Springer
    2.) CF Daulton Varsho
    3.) 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
    4.) 2B Will Wagner
    5.) C Alejandro Kirk
    6.) 1B Spencer Horwitz
    7.) LF Joey Loperfido
    8.) SS Leo Jimenez
    9.) RF Addison Barger
    SP Jose Berrios
