With Injuries Piling Up, Should Browns Sign David Bakhtiari?

The Cleveland Browns have an offensive line problem right now. That’s not a good thing when you have a quarterback who is returning from injury. They need to be able to trust that the big guys up front can protect quarterback Deshaun Watson when he drops back to pass.

Tackle Jedrick Wills is still rehabbing from a torn ACL, and Tyler Conklin my not be ready either. On Saturday, the Browns lost three reserve tackles to injury in one game.

The Browns need to have stability at the left tackle position.

So that leads to the question, is it time for GM Andrew Berry to pick up the phone and call All-Pro tackle David Bakhtiari?

The former Green Bay Packers left tackle has undergone multiple surgeries to repair his knee and remove scar tissue that was causing pain and discomfort while on the field.

The three-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro could be a low-risk, high reward player for Cleveland. Bakhtiari has stated that he is feeling better than he has in a few years and that the surgery he underwent last year to remove the scar tissue and repair small damage to the knee was successful and he’s ready to go.

Right now, there is nobody that the Browns can rely on, so why not at least make the exploratory phone call? Shoring up the tackle spots is imperative for a team looking to go back to the playoffs this year. ... and David Bakhtiari has a resume that - assuming he's healthy - can help this team do that.
