NFL Reveals Caleb Williams' Heartfelt Message After Scoring First Preseason Touchdown

Some things are far too valuable to ever let out of your site, let alone out of your own grasp.

So when Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, scored his first career touchdown in the preseason a week ago, he wasn't about to part ways with the special ball.

Of course, keeping the pigskin as a piece of memorabilia is not uncommon in the league, but typically, a player will give it to someone on the staff and have them put it somewhere for safekeeping. But as we saw on this week's episode of HBO's Hard Knocks , Williams had a different plan of action with his new prized possession.

"I'm gonna hold this one," Williams said once back on the bench with the ball in his hands. "I'm just gonna hold it."

After multiple attempts by staff members to get the ball from Williams and put it somewhere safe, the former Heisman winner finally agreed and gave it up before going back on the field.

I'm sure he got it back after the game and now has it somewhere special in his house. He will always remember that first NFL touchdown.
