The 2024 Paris Games was certainly one to remember for USA runner Quincy Wilson.

The 16-year-old out of Ballis School in Maryland became the youngest male track and field athlete to represent the USA in the Olympics and won his first-ever Olympic gold medal. Not only that, but Wilson also got to meet some of his idols, including NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James.

In a guest appearance on NBC4 Washington, Wilson and his coach, Joe Lee, joined Shawn Yancy for an interview . When asked what were some of the highlights of his Paris experience, Wilson recalled meeting LeBron on the USA boat at the opening ceremonies.

"Actually when we got on the boat, I got to see LeBron James, and that was the main thing I wanted to see," Wilson revealed. "I got to meet with him. He actually knew who I was and I actually got to talk to him. That was one of the craziest things... It's amazing."

Wilson not only got to meet James on the boat but also met other USA basketball stars, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He posed for a picture with all three of them, and who wouldn't?

Wilson made his Olympic debut in the men's 4x400 meter relay qualifiers, an event where four athletes each sprint 400 meters, handing off the baton to the next runner in line.

His performance was less than ideal, clocking in at 47.27 seconds as the leadoff runner, putting the USA in second-to-last place. But his teammates came in clutch, finishing the relay in third place and securing a spot in the final.

Wilson was replaced by Rai Benjamin in the final, who helped lead Team USA to a first-place finish and a gold medal.

James also left Paris with a gold medal, his third Olympic gold of his career and his fourth Olympic medal. 2024 marked the first time LeBron played in the Olympics since the 2012 London Games.
