Robert Griffin III was fired from ESPN in a surprising decision along with Sam Ponder. Just days before the start of the 2024 college football campaign, Griffin is no longer at the network, with budget cuts pegged as the reason for the decision.

Griffin's departure from ESPN was quite shocking, especially given how successful he was during his time there.

On Tuesday, ESPN announced its crews for the upcoming college football campaign. With Griffin out, they have inserted Louis Riddick into Griffin's spot, per the release from ESPN.

"Bob Wischusen and Kris Budden will be joined by Louis Riddick on ABC and ESPN."

Riddick was previously working alongside Mark Jones. Jones will now have Roddy Jones and Quint Kessenich as the crew with Riddick moving on elsewhere. Riddick will still call some Monday Night games in the NFL despite joining the college football crew, per the report.

"Riddick, who is synonymous with ESPN’s NFL game, studio and NFL Draft coverage, readies for his fourth college football campaign and will continue to call select Monday Night Football."

ESPN also announced Mike Greenberg as Ponder's replacement for Sunday NFL Countdown.

Griffin joined ESPN three years before and had been on college football and NFL coverage before being let go in a surprising decision from the network.
