The Alabama Crimson Tide are less than two weeks away from opening their 2024 college football season. Before that, they got a visit from San Antonio Spurs star point guard Chris Paul, who spoke to Crimson Tide players on Tuesday at the Mal Moore Athletic Facility in Tuscaloosa.

Inviting high-profile guests before a season to speak to the team has been a tradition at Alabama since the days of former Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban. New Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is seemingly keeping that practice alive, with Paul appearing in front of the players to impart some of his wisdom to the Crimson Tide.

After getting a shoutout from Alabama football's X account, Paul responded by posting the following message:

"Thanks for having me @AlabamaFTBL 🙏🏾"

Paul, 39, has been playing in the NBA since the 2005-06 campaign, and he's about to see action in his 20th season in the league. As one of the most accomplished players in the history of the NBA, Paul surely has a lot of lessons to share with younger athletes such as this batch of the Crimson Tide football squad.

Alabama will open its 2024 season on Aug. 31 in a non-conference matchup against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
