The Connecticut Sun and the Los Angeles Sparks made history on Tuesday, as they saw action in the first WNBA game ever at TD Garden – the house of the NBA’s Boston Celtics and the NHL’s Boston Bruins.

According to Alexa Philippou of ESPN , the venue sold out all tickets, with a total of 19,125 people packing the house to catch the Sun and the Spark go at each other. Even Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston, who is used to playing in front of a full house this season, was left in awe of the size of the crowd at TD Garden.

“Boston fans are showing out with this crowd right now🔥🔥,” Boston posted on X (formerly Twitter). “I love it.”

Boston and the Fever did not have a game on Tuesday, so Boston was able to check out the historic Sun-Spark contest. Indiana’s next game will be on Saturday when the Fever visit the Minnesota Lynx for what should be another packed house.

The Fever are averaging the highest attendance on average in both home and road games this season, thanks in large part to the Caitlin Clark effect. Per Across The Timeline , Fever games are drawing an average of 15,306 fans in away games and 16,955.85 when they’re at home.
