There hasn't been a program like the Alabama Crimson Tide since Nick Saban took over in 2007. The Crimson Tide dominated the sport for nearly two decades, winning six national championships during Saban's 17 seasons.

Saban retired during the offseason after leading Alabama to another SEC championship and a College Football Playoff berth. However, they lost in overtime to the eventual champion, the Michigan Wolverines.

Paul Finebaum appeared on ESPN's " Get Up ," asserting that the Alabama dynasty is over. He cited the four seasons that have passed since the Crimson Tide's last title.

"We’ve seen Georgia win twice and Michigan win once since Alabama last won a national championship," Finebaum said. "So, yes, I would declare the dynasty done. It was done before Saban left. It’s really done now that DeBoer is there.”

Former LSU alum and current ESPN analyst Ryan Clark also appeared on the show with Finebaum. He joked that it was music to his ears to know that the Alabama dynasty might be dead.

However, don't tell Alabama fans that it's over. The new head coach, Kalen DeBoer, comes in with an impressive resume. He has a winning record throughout his career. DeBoer has a 37-9 record at the FBS level and a 104-12 record at the college level overall. This includes turning around a 4-8 Washington Huskies team and leading them to a 14-1 record and a national championship game appearance in just two seasons.

So, while DeBoer hasn't faced a challenge as big as being the head coach at Alabama, he knows a thing or two about winning, so it might be a little premature to call the dynasty "dead."
