Jason Kelce Opens Up About the Time He Punched Travis Kelce in the Face

Brothers will be brothers, even if those brothers are ultra-successful Super Bowl-winning siblings Jason and Travis Kelce.

Part of being siblings is fighting, especially when you're young. So while the two Kelce's may be best of friends right now, sharing a hit podcast and unlimited NFL success together, it wasn't always that way.

This week on "The Big Podcast" with Shaquille O'Neal, Jason recalled a story of when he and his brother got particularly physical with each other, playing a game of one-on-one basketball in high school.

“I was a junior in high school, Trav was a freshman,” Jason said on the podcast. “He had just gotten to be taller than me. He was always more athletic, but I was ahead of him. He had just hit puberty.”

As Travis continued to pour in buckets, Jason says that he got frustrated and more physical. Ultimately, this led to a few flagrant fouls from the older brother.

“He says, ‘That’s bulls—t, that’s a foul,’” Jason said. “I’m like, ‘I don’t see any refs out here. I don’t see anybody calling it.’ He picks the ball up, throws it at me, and goes in the house. I’m like, ‘This motherf—ker just threw the ball at me?’”

Credit to Jason, because he wasn't going to take that from his younger sibling. He ended up following Travis in the house and giving him a piece of his mind.

“I go in there, I grab him on the shoulder and I punch him,” Jason said. “We could fight all the time. This was the second time I ever punched him. I don’t know how it got that heated. I punched him in the face.”

This time, though, Travis was bigger and stronger than Jason, so the repercussions came quickly.

“Every time before that he would cry or whatever,” Jason joked. “He took this punch, scooped me up off my feet, and slammed me on the kitchen floor so hard the oven got knocked off the tracks.”

Father Kelce ultimately was able to stop a full-on fistfight that broke out between the two.

While it sounds like a crazy story that might lead to some potential bad blood, anyone with a sibling knows that this is just par for the course. It makes sense that the two are such close friends now.
