Caitlin Clark's remarkable vision and court awareness have been on full display throughout her debut season with the Indiana Fever.

Her ability to read defenses and make quick decisions has already made her one of the most dynamic playmakers in the WNBA despite being a newcomer.

In their win over the Seattle Storm on Sunday, the 22-year-old Clark set a league record for most assists in a season by a rookie. She tallied nine dimes to increase her current total to 232, breaking the previous record of WNBA legend Ticha Penicheiro's 225 assists in 1998.

At this rate, Clark could also surpass the single-season assists record of 316 set by Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas in 2023. The Fever still have 12 games left.

For ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe, Clark is on track to set an even bigger milestone when everything's said and done.

"As far as passing the basketball, I'm gonna be shocked if she's not the all-time leader in assists when she's done with her career," Sharpe said on the "Nightcap" podcast.

Currently, that distinction belongs to WNBA icon Sue Bird with 3,234 assists. The four-time champion played 19 seasons in the league, excluding the two seasons he sat out due to a knee injury.

Sharpe touted Clark's teammates, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, as players who could help the Fever rookie rack up her assists numbers.

"They're exciting," the NFL legend added. "No matter what you think, they're showing up to see her (Clark). It doesn't matter what you think. You can say she's hype, she's not hype! She's legit!"

Clark and the Fever return to action on Aug. 24 against the Minnesota Lynx.
