Browns Trade for Bengals WR in Latest Ridiculous Proposal

The Cleveland Browns have been the subject of a number of trade proposals this offseason. Some were true, as former Denver Broncos wideout Jerry Jeudy is now in Cleveland, but others seemed outlandish, including the long-running rumor that San Francisco 49ers receivers Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel could be headed to the Browns.

More recently, Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb - who is currently involved in a holdout - has been linked to Cleveland. As outlandish as that sounds, it gets worse.

Bleacher Report has proposed an in-division trade with the Cincinnati Bengals that would bring former LSU standout Ja'Marr Chase to town.

We're not sure if it's the proposition that Cincinnati would let go of Chase that's more outlandish or the assumption that the Bengals would trade him to a division rival. Either way, we understand there are slow news days, but with the final preseason game for both teams on the horizon and roster cuts looming, this isn't one of them.

The proposal has Chase coming to Cleveland in exchange for Amari Cooper, a 2025 first-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

At just 24 years of age, Chase's best years could still be in front of him. That's certainly not in question. But Cincy would no doubt require multiple first-round picks and them some in exchange for one of the best young wideouts in the game.

And even if those were offered by Cleveland, there's little chance the Bengals would ship Chase to Cleveland, where they'd have to face him twice a year for the foreseeable future.
