The upcoming matchup between the Texas A&M Aggies and Notre Dame Fighting Irish is among the most anticipated during week one.

The two teams will take the field under the lights at Kyle Field on August 31 in what will mark the first game of the Mike Elko era. One thing that has been fascinating to look at is what the Vegas oddsmakers think of this game.

Currently as of Wednesday, August 21 just ten days before the game, the Aggies are roughly 3 point favorites on most major sports books. But this has not been the case for much of the offseason since the original release of the lines.

For example, Caesar's Sportsbook had this game as a pick 'em (meaning neither team is favored by any margin as recently as mid-July. By the first week of August on Caesar's Notre Dame was even favored by one point. Between August 4 and August 5, that shifted to the Aggies being favored by a point.

Since then, however, the only shifts after months of going back and forth have been in favor of Texas A&M. One rather large development that could be impacting this was the news that Irish starting left tackle Charles Jagusah tore his pectoral muscle and will miss the entire season.

As a result of news that will work in favor of the Aggies pass rush , Vegas has continued to push the line even further in the direction of A&M to where it now sits at three, the highest margin in either direction.

Regardless of what Vegas says, it should be an incredible night of football at Kyle Field just ten days from now.
