College Football Insider Predicts Intriguing Matchup For Alabama In College Football Playoff

Andy Staples , who covers college football for On3 , developed his very own edition of Bracketology for the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Many fans are excited to see how the playoff selection will take place in its inaugural expansion season, as well as the massive conference realignments that took place in the offseason.

For Alabama fans, in particular, many question if new head coach Kalen DeBoer can lead the Tide to another playoff appearance or even to a national championship.

Staples sees Alabama reaching the CFP under DeBoer, and currently predicts them in the No. 5-seed facing off against Boise State.

Of course, this is not a set-in-stone ordeal, and it's merely a prediction. But what Staples wrote about the Tide should definitely open fans' eyes.

"The celebration (by everyone else) of Nick Saban’s retirement is going to be short-lived," Staples wrote. "Kalen DeBoer, who led Washington to the national title game last year, has a loaded roster that will not fall off in the way that Alabama’s SEC rivals had hoped."

Alabama will have one of the toughest schedules in the entire nation, and many roadblocks are set before them. However, if they meet the high expectations that is "Alabama Football ," they could be the team to beat in 2024.
