Oklahoma Transfer General Booty Set To Start At Quarterback For FBS Program

General Booty has an interesting ride to becoming a starting quarterback at the Division one level. In 2021, he was the starting quarterback for Tyler (Texas) Junior College, where he was dominant.

At Tyler, Booty tallied 3,410 yards, 27 touchdowns, and averaged 284.2 yards per game, which was the second most at the JUCO level that season.

That's when he found what he thought would eventually be his home in Division one. He transferred to Oklahoma to play for the Sooners, where he spent 2022 and 2023 as a backup and only made two appearances on the field during his tenure.

He then hopped back in the transfer portal looking to find a home where he could be the starter, and he made it happen. After transferring to the Sun Belt Conference, Booty is set to be named the starting quarterback for Louisiana-Monroe to start the 2024 season.

UL-Monroe opens the year with Jackson State , UAB , and then will take on Texas , who Booty surely knows well being on Oklahoma for two years.

However, Booty will now have the opportunity to show what he is capable of. He has NFL genes in his family and certainly has the traits to be successful at the collegiate level.
