Joel Klatt Predicts No. 1 Seed in This Year's College Football Playoff

Fox Sports broadcaster and college football analyst Joel Klatt has named the team he expects to take the No. 1 overall seed in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.

With Week 0 kickoff two days away, the clock was running out for experts like Klatt to make their official predictions, and on Thursday morning, he delivered his for the 2024 season. As part of them, he revealed his No. 1 overall seed: The Ohio State Buckeyes.

"I had Ohio Klatt’s Bracket State as my No. 1 ranked team, I'm going to put them at No. 1 in the playoff," said Klatt .

He then noted the key difference between the Bulldogs and Buckeyes at the top of the seeding.

"I think their schedule is more favorable than Georgia's schedule," Klatted added on Ohio State. "I could see Georgia stubbing their toe at some point along the road. Remember all of those difficult road games that they have."

With more obstacles on the Georgia schedule, Klatt just sees the Buckeyes as more likely to escape the regular season and conference title game unscathed.

"So, even as an SEC champ, I think that (Georgia) might have one more loss than Ohio State and they would be No. 2 in the country."

Ohio State first and Georgia right behind them, but the same top two as nearly every expert in the sport.
