Alabama and head coach Kalen DeBoer came under some heat this week when Miami (Ohio) head coach Chuck Martin accused the Crimson Tide of "illegally" recruiting away one of his former players.

Miami (Ohio) kicker Graham Nicholson entered the transfer portal following the 2023 season and ultimately wound up at Alabama. However, Martin lashed out and called out the Tide for stealing Nicholson in an unlawful recruitment.

But when asked for comment on the accusation at his latest media session, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer completely denied any wrongdoing in Nicholson's transfer process.

"I don't know anything about that, I guess, that comment," DeBoer said.

"Yeah, I mean, he entered the portal and we reached out to him," he added. "So that's how it goes, right? So, we did everything we were supposed to."

The Alabama head coach insists that nothing was afoot in Graham Nicholson's recruitment. Martin surely won't believe that answer, though, after he exploded for the following diatribe towards 'Bama over the Nicholson saga the other day.

During an interview, Martin was questioned about the Redhawks' special teams personnel and immediately issued a correction when Nicholson's loss was brought up.

"We didn't lose him, he's at Alabama," Martin noted. "We know exactly where he's at."

This was a sore subject for Martin.

"Again, you media people, it's all pretend," he carried on. "Like, no, Alabama stole our kicker. They illegally recruited our kicker and stole him from us. Like, that's a fact."

"But we live in this la-la world like hey, let's not talk reality," added Martin. "I don't know why. Everybody knows what's going on. So yeah, Alabama stole our kicker."

The Miami (Ohio) coach was certainly fired up, but Kalen DeBoer denies any foul play.
