On Thursday, On3 Vice President Steve Wiltfong issued a crystal ball prediction for Texas to land elite safety target Jonah Williams. A five-star recruit out of Galveston, Texas, Williams is ranked as the top safety in the 2025 recruiting class, according to On3 .

According to 247Sports National Analyst Hudson Standish, Williams is "one of the freakiest athletes in the 2025 recruiting cycle and has a legitimate chance to develop into an early-round selection in either the MLB or NFL Draft."

Williams has played wide receiver and defensive back for Galveston Ball High School. Last season, he finished with 20 catches for 474 yards and eight touchdowns, 58 total tackles, four interceptions, and eight passes defended.

According to 247Sports, Wiliams ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash and a 4.21-second short shuttle at the Under Armour Next Camp, which ranked in the top five for this class of prospects over 200 pounds.

According to OnTexas reporter Gerry Hamilton , Williams visited Texas on June 25 with his parents and spent a lot of time with Steve Sarkisian, Blake Gideon, and the defensive coaching staff.

Williams has also visited Oregon, Ohio State, Texas A&M, LSU, and USC, but Wiltfong projects that Texas will win the race for his signature. Stay tuned for more updates on Williams as we approach his August 24 commitment.
