The last time Mike Edwards hit the football field, it was as part of the Kansas City Chiefs securing their second-straight Super Bowl title in February.

Now, as a member of the Buffalo Bills , Edwards has been recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in the first week of training camp. Thursday saw the return of the five-year veteran safety to the field - as a two-time Super Bowl veteran as well.

"It felt great," Edwards said. "I told them I haven't put shoulder pads on since the Super Bowl, so it's been a long time. So, definitely glad to put the pads back on and be out there with my boys."

Edwards' best season came with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 where he recorded a career-high 82 tackles, two interceptions, and one returned for a touchdown.

In Buffalo, Edwards will be tasked with replacing the likes of All-Pro veterans in Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer - a hard task for most other players.

For Edwards, though, it's mostly par for the course as he searches for his third championship in his first six seasons overall.

Getting back to the practice field will certainly help his case, and the chance of Buffalo's secondary remains one of the better units in football.
